Tico and the Ria Fairy - Film and Book

Editing a book and directing a film.

The theme of the project focuses on a very young character, who one day, listening to his grandfather at the fireplace, tell the story of the fairy from the ria, decides to go looking for her. The plot set in the 40s of the last century and throughout the book and film, we will be able to follow, on a journey through the estuary and its tributaries, the flora and fauna present, as well as getting to know a little more about the professions of yore , with special emphasis on fishing and moliço harvesting. This will be a production focused on the young audience, but which we think will attract the interest of Aveiro people in general, of all ages. It will be a way for the elders to relive the ria of other times, not in the form of a documentary, but in an adventure dynamic, in which we will see hundreds of moliceiros in the arms of the ria, in their daily toil, as well as the younger ones getting to know the bowels of the Ria de Aveiro, its islands, its magical places, its channels, its mystique and in the end discovering that the Ria has a very special fairy.

Jorge Bacelar, a well-known photographer, has joined this project, who will hold a photographic exhibition before the film's premiere, where he will photograph each scene of the film and thus tell the film itself, in photographs.

António Tedim, a well-known photographer of the invicta, also joins this project, who will take the photographs of the “Making of” for an exhibition that will be shown in the previews of the film, in the different municipalities.

Book/Movie Synopsis:

After TICO hears his grandfather telling the story of the Fairy of Ria, he gets so excited that he goes looking for her.

How good the sunset was that he went down every day and that he seemed to want to tell her that he was special. The fish jumped in the water, the little rabbits jumped in a synchronous and melodious bustle, the clouds opened their most beautiful drawings to the imagination of any mind that wanted to simply dream in the simplicity of a state of inner purity.

 Decidedly, TICO sets off in search of something that will mark him forever.
