After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, campaigns were multiplying in support of the Ukrainian people around the world. In addition to the fundraisers created by associations or individual personalities, there has also been a large number of crowdfunding initiatives.  "Help the people of Ukraine" is a page that brings together all the fundraisers launched in Portugal, as well as campaigns created in Spain and other European countries.

The page, created by the GoFundMe platform, also provides   a guide on how to launch a crowdfunding aimed at a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that supports the Ukrainian people.

Fundraisers are subject to a review and validation process to ensure that funds reach their beneficiaries. Compliance with all statutes, the law and the overall financial regulations, in accordance with the economic sanctions imposed, is also supervised.

Crowdfunding or crowdfunding consists of obtaining funding for a given project. The capital invested is made available by a "crowd" and not by a small number of investors. The benefits of crowdfunding are related to the fact that it is possible to "give direct support to those who need emergency financial assistance," it reads on the page, and that there are no long waiting periods to receive the funds raised.
